VISIT YOUR PAST BUT DO NOT DWELL IN IT

When people are on a journey to Find their newness of new, sometime we will visit our past. This is not a bad thing because it reminds us of where we came from and where we do not want to go back too.

For some reason, I grabbed a cigarette and it reminded me of where I didn't want to be but it felt so good to be there, I spent week in that shit hole. I stopped working out, I bought some fast food, some beer (I quit drinking a

few years ago), I even rolled up some green.

Here I am writing this entry and I feel like shit. I know that I have totally assaulted my body and even took my mind out of the game for a few days. I have taken a good look at my actions and realized that this is clearly where I do not want to be. It is now Friday, October 13, 2020. The date doesn't mean a thing, except that on Saturday the 14th, 6 AM, it will be time to get back. It is going to be a challenge but observing my past behavior. gave me some insight into the person I no longer want to be.

VISITING YOUR PAST CAN BE SCARY BUT ALSO AN EYE OPENING LESSON

I think that the stress of last week combined with the fight for my newness, got the better of me, but failing is only failure when you stop attempting. One of my favorite motivational speakers said this, "You will fail your way to the top" (Les Brown, Dec 4, 2018). Keep in mind that Rome was not built in a day. Adding to that, Will Smith said, "Successful people fail a lot more than they succeed" (Smith, W. 1/24/18).

Taking that in consideration, seeing that I am writing this blog post lets me know that although I have failed, I am not a failure simply due to my refusal to quit. I may have to take that standing 8 count but I am still here. Understand that getting to your better life means that you must confront failing but do not concede to failure.
