WHAT ABOUT NOW (Don't delay)

This Chris Daughtry song is slowly becoming one of my favorites. I am listening to the song and actually thought. why do people delay. The reasons are varied. A study done in the article, Why Do We Procrastinate, by Pamela Wiegartz Ph.D. talked about these varieties. Using the form of a questionnaire, Dr. Wiegartz, bunched questions to formulate possible reasons for procrastination. Reasons like, "Fear of success, perfection, or fear of failure. lend reasons to procrastination. I talked about this in one of my previous post [Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda] (see post). Unfortunately, it is a very human thing, and as the article suggests, it is not due to laziness or lack of ability, it is more of a function of the mind.

I say that because there are people like one of my favorite motivational speakers, Les Brown, has fought his fears and met his destinies. Denzel Washington said this also during a speech at U Penn. They both said, Imagine if you will be on your death bed – and standing around your bed – the ghosts of the ideas, the dreams, the abilities, the talents given to you by life. And that you for whatever reason, you never acted on those ideas, you never pursued that dream, you never used those talents..." (Brown, L. May, 27 2017). Not doing it or not taking on the responsibility, mentally absolves some people, but stops almost all (mentally absolved or not).

Even when it hurts, you have got to move because lack of movement probably yields a similar pain, but designed to pull you back. You must fight through it. Do it now, when it is done, you can look back at you progress. Doing that will empower you and give you the feeling that you can complete your goal. So hear what Daughtry is saying "What about now?" So what about now?

In order to get the things you desire, you will have to do it now. For real it is either now or never and never should never be a thought when you are looking to
